Vision Helpers franchises business

Vision Helpers was created in 2006 as a division of Accessibility dot Net, Inc. which is dedicated to helping persons blind and visually impaired since 1997. Last week Vision Helpers was split off as a separate Nebraska S Corporation and a franchise for Iowa was sold to Ralph Aufdenkamp in Des Moines, Iowa, and a franchise for Nebraska was sold to Patrick (Pat) Fischer in Omaha, Nebraska.

Accessibility dot Net will continue to offer all the blindness and braille products they have in the past, but the low vision business will be directed to Vision Helpers. There are millions of people with low vision that need help and Vision Helpers is dedicated to serving their needs by providing a full line of technology solutions.

The two companies Accessibility dot Net, Inc. and Vision helpers, Inc. will still work closely together as they provide service. Karen Lemon of Whitney, Nebraska has been reassigned to a new position of writer for our upcoming book about "Low Vision Rehabilitation - to restore to useful life". Vision Helpers manufacturers their own line of large print products, a line of LED lighted magnifiers with limited lifetime warranty's, turn-key computer solutions for the Macintosh and Windows based computers, and represents a full line of the most advanced video magnification products in the industry.

As a service company Vision Helpers will go to the homes of persons with low vision to deliver, train and provide support on the products they sell. Vision Helpers works with eye doctors in Nebraska and Iowa by providing products directly to the doctor for resell, or they accept referrals so that they may help the person with low vision.

HETRA is excited to announce the 13th annual "Blue Jeans and Dreams" Benefit Dinner and Auction on Saturday, April 20, 2013. The event benefiting the Heartland Equine Therapeutic Riding Academy will be held at Five Star Stables, located at 23203 Dutch Hall Road.

An evening of entertainment country style with great food and friends and a demonstration by the HETRA students and horses!

Doors open at 5:30 pm with a social hour and silent auction. Dinner will be served at 6:30 pm and special presentation at 8pm. Individual tickets are available for advance purchase.

HETRA has recently produced a video describing the program serving Veterans in our community.

Veterans of any age and type of disability are encouraged to explore participation in this program. The Veteran program is designed to evaluate and provide opportunities for improvement
physically, mentally and socially for participants. Veterans will participate in 45 minute therapeutic sessions conducted by the HETRA team. The HETRA team consists of Veteran Volunteers (Horse leaders and sidewalkers to assist the participant), PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors, Occupational Therapists, and a Mental Health Therapist.

HRAM 2013 Wage/Salary & Benefits Survey - Participants Needed - Discounts Available

The HRAM Compensation & Benefits committee is seeking survey participants for the 2013 Wage/Salary & Benefits Survey! HRAM highly encourages you to participate in the survey.

It is a great way to get local market data to help you benchmark your pay rates, pay practices, and benefit offerings. Last year's survey contained data from over 100 companies and covered approximately 200 positions. This year we have revised job positions and updated the Health Care Reform section.

HRAM is again partnering with Actuarial Consulting Services, Inc. of Omaha in conducting the survey. The 2013 survey is comprised of three parts. To participate in the survey, please contact Scott Stoltenberg below:

The cost of the full survey for participants is a bargain at $200 for HRAM Members and $275 for non-HRAM members. If you choose not to participate in the survey, you can still purchase the full survey for $450 for HRAM members and $525 for non-HRAM members.
