The Omaha/Cornhusker Cosmopolitan Club is hosting a social evening for prospective members on Thursday, April 11, at the German American Society, 3717 South 120 Street. The fun will start at 7:00 PM, and we will have FUN! There will be delicious appetizers and a cash bar.
Our speaker will be C.J. Zimmerer, UNL starting fullback for the coming football season, who has an inspiring story about living with Type 1 diabetes.
If you would like to learn more about the efforts to cure diabetes you should attend. If you want to know more about joining a great service club where one has a great opportunity to meet and become friends with new people, have lots of FUN, and serve our community, please join us. The Omaha/Cornhusker Cosmopolitan Club is a local chapter of Cosmopolitan International, whose mission is to contribute to community well-being through charitable donations and volunteer service with special emphasis on supporting efforts to prevent and find a cure for diabetes, which affects 1 out of every 12 people in the United States.
The Omaha/Cornhusker Cosmopolitan Club's goals are to raise funds to assist in diabetes research, treatment and education; to provide scholarships to send area students like C.J. to Camp Floyd Rogers, a summer diabetes camp; and to support local charities. We have a Thursday evening meeting the first week of each month. The other weeks we meet over lunch on Fridays at Jerico's from noon to 1:00 pm sharp. Our meetings offer entertaining and educational programs and are a venue for great fellowship, networking, and fun.
