Bliss Cake Show: Edible Works of Art Celebrating Omaha Locally owned, Bliss Old Market Bakery, will be partnering with The New Blk's art gallery (1213 Jones Street) later this month for its first ever cake show. The exhibit will display nine of Omaha's celebrated landmarks and organizations through edible works of art.

The exhibit is free to the public and will run from Saturday, March 23rd to Friday, April 5th. Both the opening and closing will begin at 7:00pm. There will be cake and coffee samples along with live music with Stackshack at the opening and T-shirt printing and coffee brewing demonstrations by Beansmith Coffee at the closing of the exhibit.

This event will be fun for the whole family and will demonstrate the possibilities of cake as an unexpected art medium. About Bliss Old Market Bakery-- Bliss Bakery opened in February of 2010 by Omaha native, Autumn Pruitt and makes a wide array of better-than-homemade baked goods. The company purchased its neighbor, Aromas Coffeehouse, in July of 2012 and has continued to grow since then, improving techniques and offerings in its space on 11th and Jones.

While Bliss Bakery creates many wedding and celebration cakes, this exhibit is an opportunity to show off unique decorating methods and demonstrate the talent and imagination of its staff. Artist, Cait Irwin, joined the bakery team in August of last year and is spearheading the project. Her talent and passion for the unusual and artistic has made this cake show a reality.
