Due to the popularity of the June 2012 talk on prohibition and bootlegging, two related talks will be offered as a series early in 2013. Both talks will be presented by Bill Baburek, an avid collector of beer memorabilia and owner of Beer Corner USA. He is the instructor of Beer School, a six-week course offered at Beertopia, one of the four businesses on Beer Corner.

Part One:
2pm February 10, 2013 at the Swanson Conference Center Institute for the Culinary Arts on Metropolitan Community College's Fort Omaha Campus - just off of 32nd and Sorensen Parkway.

Join the Douglas County Historical Society as speaker Bill Baburek tells of Omaha's rich brewing history. Among the topics discussed will be the development of all of the major breweries such as Metz, Storz, Krug and Falstaff as well as some of the smaller breweries like Willow Springs, Fontenelle and Jetter.

Reservations Required! The talk is free for DCHS members; A $5 donation is requested of non-members. Please email members@douglascohistory.org, or call 402-455-9990 to reserve your spot.

Part Two:
Mark your calendars now to join us on April 14th for a discussion of Local Craft Brewers and a Beer Tasting with Bill Baburek at the General Crook House Museum. Further details will be announced soon. Second Sunday Talks are supported by the Dr. C.C. and Mabel L. Criss Memorial Foundation.
