Douglas County Historical Society Presents its August Second Sunday Talk Featuring Three Local Authors and Book Signing
Join our August Local Author Spotlight as local authors Catherine Richmond, Karen Linder and Tim Dempsey discuss their books, answer questions and sign copies of their books, which will be for sale at the event.
All three authors used the Douglas County Historical Society's Library and Archives Center to perform research needed for their books.
Catherine Richmond's novel Through Rushing Waters is an inspirational romance set in the year 1876 at the Ponca Indian Agency.
Tim Dempsey, a former Douglas County Sheriff, wrote and compiled Rules are Made to be Broken: An Anecdotal History of the Douglas County Jail.
In April, Karen Linder published The Women of Berkshire Hathaway featuring Omaha business leaders Rose Blumkin and Susan Jacques.
The talk will be held August 12th on Metropolitan Community College's Fort Omaha Campus in Building 10, Room 110 and is from 2pm to 3pm. Reservations are required, as seating is limited.
Please call 402-455-9990, or email members@DouglasCoHistory.org to reserve your spot.
The talk is free for members; a $5 donation is requested of non-members. Second Sunday Talks are supported by the Dr. C.C. and Mabel L. Criss Memorial Foundation.
