Interactive Concert to Benefit Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, St. Andrews Episcopal Church - Headliners Billy McGuigan and Jimmy Weber to Delve into Extensive Repertoire

Audience favorites Billy McGuigan and Jimmy Weber bring their popular, high-powered all request show to Lauritzen Gardens on Friday, September 13. Proceeds benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Omaha.

The outdoor performance is open to the public. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The show is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.

"Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, and settle in for a fabulous night on the green - all to benefit two very worthy institutions. You can't beat that!" said event organizer Susie Thorne of St. Andrews Church.

McGuigan, who lost his father to Leukemia, is the creator of three nationally touring shows: Rave On!, an homage to Buddy Holly, Yesterday and Today, an interactive Beatles tribute, and Rock Legends, an audience customized rock experience. He has wowed audiences and broken attendance records at theaters across the country. The performer lives in Omaha with his wife and two children and is actively involved in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Country musician Jimmy Weber, also from Omaha, has opened for top entertainers such as Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, Clint Black and the Beach Boys. He recently retired from active duty after 24 years of service with the US Air Force. A former member of the US Air Force Band, he deployed five times.

The entertainers have a combined repertoire of more than 1,000 songs. During the interactive show, appropriately titled "By Request Only," cues from the audience will determine their playlist.

Tickets are $35 for adults, $15 for students. Children under 5 years old are free. A Meet & Greet package, which includes the show and a pre-concert reception, is available for $75 per person. Tickets are now available online through Ticketswest, at the St. Andrews church office and after Sunday services.

Just in time for Nebraska football, two new burgers arrive at Black Oak Grill.

Named for the Blackshirts, the Black & Blue Burger is a cheese lover's dream. It comes topped with blue cheese crumbles and blue cheese dressing, along with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle - all on a brioche bun. Or try the Husker Burger, heaped with aged cheddar, smokehouse bacon, a fried egg, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle. Both burgers come with savory fries.

Lucky Bucket Brewing Co. partners recommend pairing the burgers with light, easy-to-drink beers. Try the seasonal strawberry-flavored Flip Flop, available on tap for a limited time, or the Pre-Prohibition Style Lager for something a little more traditional.

Black Oak Grill is located in Midtown Crossing. Call 402-341-0622 for reservations.

Wynonna will perform "A Simpler Christmas" mixing classic Christmas favorites with her own holiday songs, and sprinkle in a few of her biggest hits, all backed by her band, The Big Noise.

Her impressive career has produced hit songs such as: "I Saw The Light", "She Is His Only Need" and "No One Else On Earth". Wynonna, who has been a staple of the country music scene for more than 30 years, sold more than 20 million albums performing with her mother Naomi as half of the legendary duo The Judds.

Since 1992, she's also had a successful solo career, selling 10 million albums. Wynonna is currently working on her eighth studio album due out later this year. It's just the latest in a string of hit albums that started with her quintuple platinum 1992 solo debut, Wynonna. That set spawned four number one hits and was the best-selling country album ever by a female artist at that time. In 1994, Wynonna received the coveted Top Female Vocalist of the Year trophy at the ACM Awards, and Rolling Stone called her "the greatest female country singer since Patsy Cline."

Accessibility.TV launched in Omaha, Nebraska USA

0
0

Good morning Friends and Family, Effective today, August 29th I have launched Accessibility.TV which is the only Internet TV station dedicated to Accessibility and assistive technology products. The goal is to provide a one stop educational source for assistive technology. Assistive technology is something I have been involved with for 25 years and it is the great equalizer. Assistive technology is hardware and software we add to a computer to accommodate a person with a disability. For someone who is unable to use a keyboard or a mouse, we can add voice recognition software and they can talk to a computer and emulate what a keyboard and mouse does. There is also expanded keyboards, various switches, and other types of technology to provide input. On the output side if you are blind and unable to see the screen we can add software called a screen reader and have the information on the screen read to you. If you have low vision like macular degeneration, than there is software to provide magnification so you can enlarge what you are looking at on a screen. If you are blind and a braille reader, then you can have a refreshable braille display hooked up to a computer and so now rather than hearing the information on the computer screen, you can read it in braille. If you have a learning disability and cannot read print, there is software and a camera that can instantly turn paper work and printed books into spoken words on a screen for you to read. There are also software tools that help a person write that needs that help. Assistive technology is the great equalizer and it opens a lot of doors for persons with disabilities. Accessibility.TV is a web site which was created to unite everybody to create and share videos that show success using assistive technology. This website is not selling anything but sharing videos divided into two categories; Vendor and Product.

Please watch the video at this link to learn more. http://www.accessibility.tv/about.htm

Accessibility.TV is operated by volunteers and if you are interested in helping us, please email me your qualifications. We need Content Experts, Website Designers, Graphic Artists, Programmers (CGI, Database, Java and Flash), Video camera experts, Video editor, and users of assistive technology.

With much respect,
Pat Fischer

Football Stadium
Purse and Bag Restrictions
Solved by SHOLDIT

August 29, 2013, Omaha, NE - Just in time for the opening day of professional football games, Angela Lee founder of SHOLDIT, announced that she has invented an ideal solution to the football stadium restrictions imposed on purses and bags.

"There is general agreement that the ban is designed to look out for the personal and public safety for all those whom attend games. The patent pending Clutch WrapT purse has been found to meet those requirements in addition to enhancing comfort and security even further. Worn as a scarf, its hidden secure zipper pocket(s) have more than enough room for a cell phone, wallet, keys, tickets and other items of importance used during a game" announced Lee. "We are thrilled that since the product was launched less than two years ago, it has been profiled by The Today Show, USA Today, The Chicago Tribune and a host of other national, regional, and local news outlets."

The SHOLDIT Clutch WrapT purse conveniently unfolds from a clutch into a fashionable infinity wrap which can be worn across the body, double- or single-wrapped around the neck, and around the shoulders as a shrug while still having access to the secure zippered pockets. When the Clutch WrapT purse is not being worn, it can be simply inverted back into the main pocket and for use as a clutch purse.

The SHOLDIT Clutch WrapT purse has been making a splash across the country and been touted by Accessories Magazine as "one of the most innovative fashion accessories seen in years." Comments also include "Every woman in every city across the globe needs one!"
