    Together Omaha
    Begins Construction
    New Homeless Prevention Headquarters

(Omaha, NE), Together, the area's leading non-profit homeless prevention agency for over 30 years, today announced that its new headquarters at 812 S 24th St. began internal construction this week and is scheduled for completion by Thanksgiving.

"Unfortunately we simply outgrew our current facility and Together is now poised, with a new facility, to make a significant impact on our community by preventing working families and veteran's from becoming homeless" explained Executive Director Michael Hornacek. As much as we wish that the problem has been solved, we find ourselves, because of the economy and many other factors, serving more clients than ever before and we simply ran out of room. We are so fortunate that the $2.3 million dollar project is funded by our donors and supporters."

"Families living at or below the poverty level continue to be squeezed due to health care costs and struggles to find good employment" added Krissy Madej, Development Director. "In our new facility we will be adding a community garden and picnic area to add fresh produce to our choice pantry and a community space for the neighborhood. In addition, we will expand our prevention services to increase our business hours and serve more families struggling to make ends meet. We chose the location for ease of access for our clients. We will have adequate parking and most importantly the bus route stops on the corner right by our building."

Together has humbly helped 18,000 people per year care for one another for the past 37 years and coordinates over 44,000 services each year. As a homeless prevention agency, Together supplies food, rent and utility assistance, navigation services, furniture and transportation to the greater Omaha area.

    National "Let's Move/Let's Read" Intuitive
    Adds Gift of Music to
    Obesity Prevention Activities

(Omaha, NE) Donielle Griffin, representing the national " Let's Move/Let's Read" initiative and Association Director of Mission Advancement for the YMCA of Metropolitan today, announced the addition of a new musical program that will offer upbeat motivation and help maximize results in the fight against obesity.

"Recently, award-winning songwriter Karen Sokolof Javitch, approached us and offered us for free her "Movin' to the Beat" CD, which contains three original songs composed to inspire children tp seniors to eat right and exercise," Griffin explained. "Our staff reviewed the lyrics and music and found it to be a perfect fit. We will be using the children's version for the Let's Move portion of the Let's Move/Let's Read program and for our nationally recognized PHD (Physical, Healthy and Driven) program, which is helping to fight childhood obesity. The adult version will be used in our Fit & Well Seniors program, which has been designed for active older adults.

"When "Movin to the Beat" was written, my goal was to have an organization like the YMCA, Let's Move/Let's Read utilize it any way they could to help combat childhood obesity," Javitch reveals." I want my music to continue the work that my late father Phil Sokolof started years ago. He focused on the dangers of high cholesterol while I am focusing on the dangers of obesity in children."

The "Let's Move/Let's Read" initiative encourages Americans to get involved with preventing summer reading loss and childhood obesity by engaging youth in summer reading and physical activity, as well as providing information about healthy, affordable food. "Let's Move "is part of the very popular Michelle Obama intuitive.

Karen Sokolof Javitch has raised over $300,000 for national and local charities though her original music. Her musicals, including one about the late Princess Diana, have been performed in Los Angeles, Lincoln, Chicago, New York City, St. Paul/Minneapolis, St. Louis as well as Omaha. She has won the TAG (Theater Arts Guild) award two times and recently she received honorable mention in the 'Song of the Year' contest for her song, "It's a Steve Jobs' World!" Her musicals and songs are performed by young people in high schools and colleges around the country.

OMAHA, NE - SHOLDIT, the creators of the world's only patent-pending Clutch WrapT purse has just announced the launch of their latest fashionable collection, the INFINITY Clutch WrapT purse collection.

The new INFINITY Clutch WrapT purse collection features 5 (eye popping colors): Cardinal (red), Peacock (blue), Raven (black), Meadowlark (yellow), and Mourning Dove (grey). Differentiating the new collection from SHOLDIT's original SIGNATURE Clutch WrapT purse line is a new lightweight fabric, (no cinch toggle for cross body wear), a single hidden zippered pocket, increased length to 31" for a one-size-fits-most fit, and a lower price point at only $40. The new styles can be worn 4 ways: double wrapped around the neck, single wrapped around the neck, around the shoulders as a shrug, or folded up into a clutch.

SHOLDIT introduced its first collection, the SIGNATURE Clutch WrapT purse, in mid-2012. The SHOLDIT Clutch WrapT purse is a savvy alternative to the traditional handbag. At first glance, it looks like a traditional scarf. Upon further investigation, the Clutch WrapT purse features 1 or 2 hidden zippered pocket(s) perfectly sized to carry a woman's essentials - such as a cell phone, keys, cash, debit cards, ID card, etc. - so she can leave the handbag at home. Ideal for traveling, evenings out, shopping trips, concerts, theme parks, sporting events, and anywhere in the world a woman may not want to carry a purse. (However can still be folded into a clutch purse if desired). The SHOLDIT Clutch WrapT purse also has the added safety benefit of reducing the chance of pickpocketing and purse-theft.

SHOLDIT has been praised for it's innovative invention by top-tier media outlets including the TODAY Show, USA Today, Chicago Tribune, The Travel Channel, Woman's Day Magazine, Huffington Post, and more.

The new INFINITY Clutch WrapT purse collection is now available at
