HRAM Governmental Affairs Morning Session 'Health Care Reform - Preparing for 2014'

Presenters: Kathy Magli & Juliana Reno with Kutak Rock This presentation will provide an overview of the Affordable Care Act (the Act's) requirements, a description of the provisions in effect now and coming into effect in 2013.

Because employer actions in 2013 will impact the penalties that accrue in 2014, we will spend half of the time on the details of the Act's employer penalty provisions--we will explain which employers are subject to the penalty, how the penalty is calculated and potential strategies for minimizing the penalties.

This program has been submitted for a total of 1.5 hours of General credit to the HR Certification Institute for review. Register Online or fax, email or mail in Registration Form.

The Olson Group introduces HCR modeling tool employers can use to meet key provisions of PPACA

Source: ContinuousHealth Reform Optimizer and Management Environment(CHROME)Compass Impact Modeler

OMAHA, Neb., February 11, 2013 - The Olson Group, an Omaha locally-owned employee benefits company, is pleased with the new innovative employee benefits tool called CHROME Compass. CHROME helps employers optimize their health insurance program, and potentially reduce costs based on over 1400 employer results. The average cost savings is 12 percent using the CHROME optimizing tool.

So, how will this strategic plan work? The Health Care Reform laws have been redefined and will be continuously changing in the next several years. On that note, this strategic plan will give employers the opportunity to be flexible while handling Health Care Reform. Employers are continually on defense if they are not following the ever-changing industry; however, CHROME Compass allows employers to learn an offense by understanding how to take advantage of key HCR requirements.

Employers will have an opportunity to reduce costs and gain a competitive advantage within their health insurance program whether it is self-insured or fully insured.

About ContinuousHealth. ContinuousHealth is a leading provider of innovative employee benefits technologies. According to continuoushealth.com, they use CHROME as a "proprietary employee benefit planning and execution framework used by CHROME Certified Consultants to assist employers as they make decisions on how to allocate compensation dollars in this evolving era of laws, regulations, mandates and new products."

As a CHROME Certified Consultant, The Olson Group can teach employers how to create a strategy and reduce costs within the new regulations forthcoming. The Olson Group website is theolsongroup.net.

Many of us take medications on a daily basis without thinking too much about it. Most people don't realize it typically takes approximately 10 years to develop new medications, and it's a costly process.

One great way you can assist medical research with this process is to become a research volunteer with Celerion. Clinical studies are an important part of developing new medicines and without study participants, medical research would not be possible.

Here are 5 reasons why you might consider becoming a research volunteer with Celerion:
1. Give back to the community
2. Learn about the process of developing new medications
3. Meet new people
4. Receive a thorough health exam
5. Get paid!

If you are interested in more information, please visit Celerion's website for research volunteers at www.helpresearch.com, call 800-609-7297, "Like" us on Facebook at Celerion - Lincoln, or follow us on Twitter @CelerionLNK.

We look foward to hearing from you!
