WLA Consulting, Inc. (WLA) has hired Amanda Fox as a Professioinal Engineer. Ms. Fox brings experience in environmental engineering planning and design with an emphasis on treatment plant design, hydraulics, alternative analysis, combined sewer control plans, and stormwater best management practices.

Ms. Fox holds a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from University of Nebraska-Lincoln and was a Ph.D. candidate in Biological Systems Engineering from 2003-2005. Since that time she has been serving as an engineering consultant in various roles in Indiana and Illinois.

She wes born and raised in Alliance Nebraska and now resides in Lincoln with her husband and two children.

WLA Consulting works with organizations who want to improve their environmental performance, and who value personal service and peace of mind. WLA is an engineering design firm specializing in civil and environmental projects. WLA has a unique approach of applying process engineering principles to environmental challenges.

Chamber Academy Session to Help Small Business Owners Plan for Retirement

NFC's Community Advisory Board Meeting

Nebraska Families Collaborative (NFC) invites you to attend its' next Community Advisory Board meeting on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. at Heartland Family Service located at 302 American Parkway, Papillion, NE. The theme for this meeting will be: Developing NFC's Response to Stakeholder Survey Feedback. Child Care will be available.

The Community Advisory Board is made up of people who are child welfare stakeholders in Douglas and Sarpy counties. The Board discusses issues of concern in child welfare, including foster care, visitation, family team meetings, and treatment services.

A portion of each meeting is set aside for public comments, questions, and concerns. Nebraska Families Collaborative encourages those who wish to speak during the public comment portion of the meeting to contact NFC at (402) 492-2532 to reserve a time or simply come to the meeting.

Strategic Becomes Authorized Provider of IACET CEUs

The International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) awarded StrategicHealthSolutions, LLC (Strategic) the prestigious Authorized Provider accreditation.

IACET Authorized Providers are the only organizations approved to offer IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The accreditation period extends for five years, and includes all programs offered or created during that time.

"StrategicHealthSolutions is proud of the education programs we have developed in conjunction with CMS to provide training to physicians, pharmacists, dentists, other healthcare providers and beneficiaries on topics such as Fraud, Waste, and Abuse prevention; medical identity protection; and the use of Quality Improvement Program tools," stated Pam Douglas, Director of Strategic's Design and Training Division.

Douglas added, "Our new partnership with IACET is a demonstration of our commitment to lifelong learning and high standards for all of our programs. We are very pleased to join such a prestigious organization and be recognized as part of an elite group of organizations that offers excellent continuing education and training programs."

Strategic joins nearly 650 organizations around the globe that have had their programs vetted by third-party experts in continuing education to ensure the highest possible standards are met.

Strategic will be presenting two webinar sessions for CEU credit entitled "Do You Know Where the Drugs Are Going?"

Topics covered in this program include: the definition of drug diversion, types of drug diversion, the targeted medications for drug diversion, the consequences of being involved in drug diversion activities, identifying drug diversion behaviors, and preventative actions.

In order to achieve Authorized Provider accreditation, Strategic completed a rigorous application process, including a review by an IACET site visitor, and successfully demonstrated adherence to the ANSI/IACET 1-2007 Standard addressing the design, development, administration, and evaluation of its programs.

Join in on the Halloween Fun at the Westroads Mall Spooktacular Trick-or-Treat Event!

Westroads Mall will give away Free Trick-or-Treat bags* filled with candy, terrific retailer offers and a Free child admission pass to Rave Motion Pictures. The bags will also be seeded randomly with special treats from some of our retailers. The line for the bags will form at the Food Court entrance on the lower level.

*While supplies last.

Children will then be allowed to trick-or-treat inside the mall at the various participating retailers. There will also be special appearances by our friends listed below!*

The Omaha Police Department will have several uniformed officers as well as OPD Mascots; McGruff and Johnny Justice available to interact with event participants.

* Omaha Tangier Shrine Clowns will visit and entertain Westroads guests.

The Omaha Children's Museum and Westroads Mall invite you to play. learn. together. at the Westroads Mall Kid's Club, held on the first Wednesday of every month from 10:30am - 11:30am on the Upper Level near the Children's Play Area.

The November Kid's Club Event will feature: Discovery Dome (One World, One Sky) View the stars Wednesday morning with your favorite characters from Sesame Street! Elmo, and Big Bird will introduce you to their friend, Hu Hu Zhu, from China and take you on an amazing journey in the night sky (Seating is limited to youth and may require multiple showings).

Membership is FREE and you'll receive a FREE bouncy ball from Old Navy for each child you enroll in the Kid's Club.
